X4 Firmware Release Notes

Firmware Version 6.3.48

This release contains the following features and improvements

  • Dante AV-H support added
  • BirdDog Connect is now built directly into the camera — no separate device required
  • NDI 6.3 support — NDI library updated to version 6.3.1
  • NDI Discovery support — added NDI Sender Advertiser functionality for network discovery
  • SuperFine Zoom mode — zoom speed range expanded from 8 levels (0–7) to a 15-level table for finer control. Standard mode covers the full range in steps of 2; SuperFine mode provides single-step precision
  • Zoom Speed now supports the full range from slowest to fastest in both Standard and SuperFine modes
  • Added zoom_speed_ext NDI command and CAM_Zoom(Extend) VISCA command for extended zoom speed control
  • Stop command now supported for both Standard and SuperFine Zoom modes via NDI and VISCA
  • AI Tracking smoothness improved — reduced motion jitter while tracking subjects
  • AI Tracking Character Position fix — Character Position centering now works correctly for all Figure Size Mode values
  • Updated NDI and VISCA color temperature commands to align with camera definitions
  • Added VISCA Tally command support (on/off)
  • Tally behaviour corrected and NDI SDK tally implementation updated

This release includes the following fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where zoom would not stop in SuperFine mode after upgrading the keyboard firmware
  • Fixed iris always closing when using a keyboard controller to change the iris value
  • Fixed camera image settings not saving or randomly reverting when recalling presets
  • Fixed battery percentage discrepancy between the web UI dashboard and the e Ink display on the camera body
  • Fixed directional control knob latency inconsistency in the CamControl tab
  • Fixed an issue where switching to HX3 codec would automatically switch white balance to manual mode and set saturation to 200%

Known Limitations:

  • When Teleconvert is ON, bitrate setting is limited to "Custom"

Firmware Version 6.1.31

This release contains the following features and improvements
  • Teleconvert Mode in Cam Control Tab (Turns Camera into 40X zoom in HD resolutions)
  • Added battery percentage indicator in webUI
  • Web-based Wi-Fi upgrades have been removed and unified with system update
  • Updated AF version to improve low-light focusing
  • Added dual discovery server support
This release includes the following fixes:
  • Fixed a persistent network disconnection issue.
  • "Update Wifi version" message always showing fixed
  • Wifi Module corruption during update fixed.
  • If a Wi-Fi module upgrade is required, the system will automatically determine whether to update the Wi-Fi version after the system update
  • Fixed Memory leak issue
  • Network bandwidth usage showing 100% bug fixed
Known Limitations: 
  • Superfine Mode is currently only working on webUI control

Firmware Version 6.1.24

This release contains the following features and improvements
  • Full Integration with BirdDog KBD over NDI and Visca control
  • API Integration 
  • Added headroom adjustment slider to AI Tracking
  • Auto focus mode improvements 
  • Support added for absolute positioning
This release includes the following fixes:
  • Fixed an issue where Zone A saved as Zone B in Zone tracking
  • API get request and webUI consistency fixes
  • HX3 mode preset bitrate corrections
  • Wifi and ethernet connections on the same subnet networks now connecting properly 
  • Wifi spanning tree and DHCP server issue fixed
  • 59.94 frame rate now properly reports through metadata
  • Password change feedback added
  • Bright setting no longer has high delay
Known Limitations: 
  • AI Confirm non functional through BirdDog KBD
  • HX3 preset at 2160p50 may send out incorrect framerate 
  • /birddogpicsetup POST return doesn't return updated values
