What you will need

1 x BirdDog X1, X1 30x, X1 Ultra, or MAX firmware update .bin file

1 x BirdDog X1, X1 30x, X1 Ultra, or MAX camera

Procedure

Upgrading to V6.3.102 from Firmware Versions Lower than 6.3.100 (Two-Step)

If your camera is currently running a firmware version lower than V100, a direct upgrade to V6.3.102 is not possible. You must upgrade to an interim firmware version first.

NOTE: If you are unsure which firmware version your camera is currently running, please contact help@birddog.tv before proceeding.

Step 1 — Upgrade to Interim Firmware BD-interim-V6.3.100

  1. Download the interim firmware file: BD-interim-V6.3.100.bin.

  2. Log into the camera BirdUI and navigate to the SYSTEM / SYSTEM UPDATE section.

  3. Click CHOOSE FILE, select BD-interim-V6.3.100.bin and click UPLOAD.

  4. Wait for the success prompt. DO NOT power off the unit during this process.

  5. Allow the camera to fully reboot before proceeding to Step 2.

  6. Confirm the Firmware Version on the BirdUI Dashboard is 6.3.100 before continuing.

Step 2 — Upgrade to V6.3.102

  1. Log back into the camera BirdUI after the reboot.

  2. Navigate to the SYSTEM -> SYSTEM UPDATE section.

  3. Click CHOOSE FILE, select the 6.3.102 firmware file for your camera model and click UPLOAD.

    1. NOTE: This update may take longer than expected to load after clicking UPLOAD. Please give upto 2 minutes for the update to get started.

  4. Wait for the success confirmation. The update may take upto 5 minutes to complete.

  5. The camera will reboot twice on its own before the update is complete.

  6. Confirm that the Firmware Version on the BirdUI Dashboard is 6.3.102.

The update process is now complete.

Standard Firmware Update (Single-Step)

This process applies to most firmware upgrades and is performed from the BirdUI.

  1. Download the firmware file from the BirdDog website and unzip.

  2. Log into the camera BirdUI. The default password is 'birddog'.

  3. Navigate to the SYSTEM / SYSTEM UPDATE section.

  4. Click the CHOOSE FILE button, navigate to the downloaded firmware folder, select the .bin file and click the UPLOAD button.

NOTE: This process will take up to 5 minutes and will require the camera to reboot. DO NOT power off the unit while this process completes.

  1. After the process reports as complete, allow 2 minutes for the camera to reboot and then refresh your browser.

  2. Confirm the update by viewing Dashboard / System Details / Firmware Version in the BirdUI. Check that the version number is correct for this release.

The update process is now complete.
