4K HDMI Firmware Release Notes

This release contains the following new features:
  1. FastSwitch on decoder!
  2. Changed HB decoder screensaver fps from 29.97 to 60fps for more friendly monitor compliance
This release contains the following fixes:
  1. 4K60p H264 performance improved
  2. API for Channel 2 implemented and fixed
  3. Fixed image doubling issue that sometimes occurred with 12G decoding
  4. Audio level HB Decode matched with NDI HX
  5. X4 and X5 metadata decoding fix in low latency mode
  6. Normal switch on video freezing on last or blue screen fixed
  7. Dual HB decode audio fixed
Known Limitations:
  1. HX Proxy in H265 not enabled, only H264
  2. Low Latency Mode is experimental and may not work with some sources and results may vary
  3. Currently cannot change device operation mode with an API Command
  4. When decoding interlaced video formats, it may be required to adjust the field order (A/V tab) in the converter BirdUI.

Firmware 5.5.330
This release contains the following new features:
  1. NDI HX2 and HX3 are here!
  2. 3 New and revamped operation modes include:
    1. HB | HX Encode mode allows you to encode both a high bandwidth and HX NDI stream at the same time
    2. HB | HX Decode mode allows you to decode either high bandwidth or NDI HX streams
    3. New HB 1x1 operation mode now you can encode and decode at the same time over the HDMI ports!
  3. For HX3 depending on your framerate and resolution the encoder will configure to specified HX3 settings
  4. For HX2 you are able to select from 3 presets or customize your bitrate and GOP settings.
This release contains the following fixes:
  1. Audio not properly reactivating after source's audio disappear or source reboot
  2. Device scramble after video restart or resolution change
  3. DHCP timeout minimum setting increased from 2 to 10 seconds
  4. UI Dashboard now refreshes properly
Known Limitations:
  1. 29.97 and 59.94 Refresh rate sources may not output via the Decoder.  Please use 30 or 60 if you encounter problems.
  2. Low Latency Mode is experimental and may not work with some sources and results may vary
  3. 4K60p H264 may have some performance issues, use H265 for better performance.
  4. API for Channel 2 is not fully implemented, some commands will not work in dual channel modes
  5. Currently cannot change device operation mode with an API Command
  6. When decoding interlaced video formats, it may be required to adjust the field order (A/V tab) in the converter BirdUI.

This release contains the following fixes:
  1. Fixed payload ID issue to accept SDI signals without ST352 payload
  2. Fixed Character limit issue, can now enter up to 32 character per channel
  3. Flickering on 4K60p HDMI Decode resolved for Single Decode mode
Known Limitations:
  1. API for Channel 2 is not fully implemented, some commands will not work in dual channel modes
  2. During device restart or changing resolutions on decode source will output a scrambled feed for a couple of seconds.
  3. Currently cannot change device operation mode with an API Command
  4. When decoding interlaced video formats, it may be required to adjust the field order (A/V tab) in the converter BirdUI.

This release contains the following new features:

     AV Setup Tab
  1. New Dual Channel Encode Mode 
    1. Now you can choose between HDMI or SDI IN, or why not Both!? In Dual Encode Mode They will now show up as 2 independent NDI streams
  2. New Dual Channel Decode Mode 
    1. In addition to an HDMI OUT decoding, now the SDI OUT can be used as its own independent NDI stream decoder

This release contains the following fixes:
  1. Resolved NDI Audio distortion bug that required toggle between mute and active when changing to a new decode source
  2. Q-sys API Decode status now properly populates info
  3. 4K60p Mac sources now cross convert properly on 4K HDMI
  4. Fixed visual signal scramble when hot-plugging HDMI cable
  5. Tally Delay fixed when in Single Channel Encode Mode
  6. NDI Groups now properly working with Studio Monitor discovery
  7. OLED spacing and information updating optimized
  8. API Reboot command after changing operation modes now works correctly
  9. UI Dashboard now properly updates streaming status
Known Limitations:
  1. In some instances you may see flickering in single channel HDMI Decode at 4K60p, set the 4K HDMI operation mode to dual channel decode in order to resolve this issue
  2. API for Channel 2 is not fully implemented, some commands will not work when in dual channel modes
  3. When decoding interlaced video formats, it may be required to adjust the field order (A/V tab) in the converter BirdUI.
  4. Discovery server may not function properly, issue currently being investigated.
